This is a quick video that show you some highlights of the best metro system that I've ever been on, the Taipei Metro MRT. The underground subway system covers most of the city. It's convenient, clean, inexpensive, and efficient. Compared to other mass transit systems, Taipei Metro feels luxurious. It may be the best public transit system in the world. Last month Streetfilms took a look at how Vancouver is making big strides toward becoming a safe bicycling city. As we learned while in town for the Velo-City 2012 conference, the city government is not alone -- it has a great partner in the regional transportation agency, TransLink, which provides transit service for 22 regional municipalities, plus funding for a network of major roads and cycling infrastructure and programs. TransLink views cycling as a complement to the agency's trains, buses, and ferries. In this follow-up, Streetfilms got to speak to TransLink officials about their vision for a transit system that works in tandem with active transportation, and to see some of the ways they're using bike infrastructure to bolster transit ridership. http://streetfilms.org

A short little look at the Dubai metro system.....The Dubai Metro (in Arabic: مترو دبي) is a driverless, fully automated metro rail network in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai. The Red Line and Green Line are operational, with three further lines planned. These first two lines run underground in the city centre and on elevated viaducts elsewhere (elevated railway). All trains and stations are air conditioned with platform edge doors to make this possible. The first section of the Red Line, covering 10 stations, was ceremonially inaugurated at 9:09:09 pm on 9 September 2009, by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, with the line opening to the public at 6 am (UTC 4:00) on 10 September. The Dubai Metro is the first urban train network in the Arabian Peninsula and either...

Visit our website for more information about Prague ! http://www.pragueliveguide.com The public transportation in Prague is by far one of the best among the European capitals. In Prague three metro lines operate; trams, trains, buses, but you will find here also small ferries (boats) or a funicular railway. In the center you might need just one ticket for the Prague integrated transport system. You can choose one day ticket ( 110 CZK ) or just 30 min ticket ( 24 CZK) or 90 min ticket ( 32 CZK ) and you can transfer from metro to train or bus. Before you enter any of these vehicles MAKE SURE YOU VALIDATE YOUR TICKET IN THE VALIDATOR! There are controls in the metro and black passengers are paying a fine around 800CZK.
